From age 6 to 11, the adventure no longer simply comes to them: they set off to experience it for themselves.

At 1:00 p.m., the children meet the Hey Folks team at one of our departure points. Parents leave them in our care, the small group climbs into the vehicle, and the birthday begins with a real sense of departure.

The destination and experience are prepared according to the season, the conditions and the child’s interests. Over 4.5 hours, the group explores, plays, creates, shares a birthday break and experiences something their parents will later discover through the stories they bring home.

A maximum of eight children, two members of the Hey Folks team and full supervision, including transport.

This format is a natural extension of our philosophy: prioritising meaningful presence, active participation and experiences that stay with children long after the day is over.

A forest can become the setting for a large-scale game. Around a fire, or during an outdoor cooking workshop, the group can come together to prepare a recipe. Snow can open the door to sledging, snowshoeing or a completely different kind of exploration.

We don’t offer a catalogue of activities to tick off. We build a coherent adventure around the child, the group and the season.

The final choice takes into account the weather, safety conditions, the family’s wishes and what will allow all eight children to fully enjoy the experience together.

At 1:00 p.m., parents say goodbye to a group of children ready to set off. At 5:30 p.m., they return to a little crew with rosy cheeks, sometimes slightly muddy shoes, and above all plenty of stories to tell.

In between, the children have experienced something without their parents. They have made decisions together, helped a friend, discovered a new place, overcome a moment of hesitation or simply laughed at something no one saw coming.

That’s part of growing up too: heading off for a few hours with your friends and coming back with a story that belongs to you.

Photos can capture some moments. But it’s often the little details children share when they return that reveal most clearly what the adventure meant to them.

Nature is never exactly the same. The light shifts through the forest, a light rain begins to fall, snow settles on the ground, or a trail opens up a new possibility.

We prepare every adventure with care while keeping enough flexibility to adapt to the weather, the season, safety considerations and the group’s energy. That’s what sets it apart from the immersive birthday party, which takes place in one location: here, the group is on the move, so the adventure adapts rather than being postponed.

This doesn’t mean improvising. We plan for several possibilities in advance so that the adventure remains coherent, engaging and safe, whatever the day brings.

Sometimes, the changes no one saw coming become the best memories.

Halfway through the adventure, the group stops to properly celebrate the birthday child. Bags are set down, everyone takes a break to recharge, candles are lit when conditions allow, and the children enjoy a calmer moment before setting off again.

Here, the birthday break doesn’t interrupt the adventure: it becomes one of its chapters.

Our usual departure points are located between Morges, Lausanne and Vevey. The exact meeting point is confirmed once the adventure has been planned.

At 1:00 p.m., the children are left in the care of two members of the Hey Folks team, who stay with them until they return at 5:30 p.m. During the afternoon, you can follow the vehicle’s live location whenever the group is on the move, and the team shares updates and photos whenever supervision allows.

This same level of care, from departure through to return, also shapes the way we organise our camps.

Maximum 8 children — CHF 800 or CHF 700 for Hey Folks Members

The price includes:

• an initial conversation with the family, followed by the planning of an itinerary, location and activities chosen specifically for the group;
• 4.5 hours of full supervision by two members of the Hey Folks team;
• return transport from the agreed departure point;
• any required car seats or booster seats;
• all equipment needed for the experience and activities;
• a birthday break for cake and candles.

Any paid activities, such as a cable car ride, swimming pool entry or another activity requiring a ticket, are charged separately.

Plan their birthday adventure

1. What age is the birthday adventure designed for?

It is designed for children aged 6 to 11. It is particularly well suited to children who are ready to move beyond the traditional birthday party and head off for a few hours with their friends and the Hey Folks team.

2. Which days and times are available?

Birthday adventures take place on Wednesdays and Sundays, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Drop-off and pick-up take place at the departure point confirmed with the family.

3. How many children can take part?

The group is intentionally limited to eight children, including the birthday child. This allows everyone to travel in a single vehicle while maintaining a high level of care and attention throughout the experience.

4. Do parents take part in the adventure?

No. Parents leave the children in the care of the Hey Folks team at the departure point at 1:00 p.m. and meet them again at the same place at 5:30 p.m. The children are fully supervised throughout the experience. You are then free to continue the celebrations with family or guests later in the evening.

5. Can we choose the exact activity?

We talk with the family about the child’s interests and what they would enjoy. The final experience is then designed around the season, the weather, safety conditions and the possibilities available at the time. We show you what could be possible without promising a fixed programme that may not be suitable on the day itself.

6. Where do the children go?

The destination depends on the adventure we prepare. It might take place in a forest, in the mountains, near a natural area or somewhere else suited to the experience. All the practical information you need is shared with the family before departure.

7. What happens if it rains or there is no snow?

The adventure adapts rather than being cancelled. Because the group is mobile, a lack of snow simply means choosing different activities, locations and games. This is what makes it different from the immersive birthday party, which takes place in one location and is rescheduled if the weather is unsuitable.

8. How does transport work?

The children travel in a recent nine-seater Hey Folks vehicle from the departure point to the adventure location and return to the agreed meeting point afterwards. Transport is included in the price.

9. Are car seats and booster seats provided?

Yes. Hey Folks provides and installs car seats or booster seats suited to each child’s age and size, in accordance with the applicable safety requirements.

10. Who supervises the children?

Two members of the Hey Folks team stay with the group throughout the experience. This means one team member can respond to an individual child’s needs when necessary while the rest of the group remains fully supervised.

11. How do you manage breaks and toilet stops?

The needs of the group are taken into account when choosing the location and planning the adventure. Having two team members means one child can be accompanied when necessary without leaving the rest of the group unattended.

12. What should the children wear?

What they need depends on the season and the experience. Before the event, we send you a clear list of the clothing, footwear, water bottle and any specific items to bring.

13. How does the birthday cake work?

A birthday break is built into the adventure. The family can provide a simple, sturdy cake that can be transported in a cooler. Hey Folks cupcakes can also be arranged as an optional extra when booking.

14. Can you accommodate allergies or particular needs?

Yes, provided we receive all the relevant information in advance. We discuss with the family what adaptations may be possible for the activities, transport and birthday break.

15. How are parents kept informed during the afternoon?

Before the adventure, all parents are invited to a dedicated WhatsApp group where practical information and an emergency contact are shared. During the afternoon, the team posts updates and photos whenever supervision allows, and the vehicle’s live location is shared whenever the group is on the move.

16. How do we book?

Complete the birthday form with your preferred date, your child’s age, the number of guests and what they would enjoy. We will then contact you to check availability, confirm the departure point and prepare the adventure.

We’ve chosen to limit each birthday adventure to eight children. Not to offer less, but to be able to give them more of our attention.

Two members of the team accompany the group. While one focuses on the group as a whole, the other can respond to an individual need, support a child during a break or simply take the time to listen without bringing the whole adventure to a halt.

A small group also makes travel, communication, decision-making and genuine participation easier for everyone.

Eight children is the right size for us to get to know the group, stay attentive and share a real adventure together.

Every child grows at their own pace. Around the age of 6, both formats can be a good fit: the choice depends on their independence, what they enjoy and how they want to share the experience with their friends.

Immersive birthday party

For children aged 4 to 6, the adventure takes place close to home: the group sets off on foot with the Hey Folks team for around two hours of exploration in the surrounding area, while you can simply wait for us to return. You then join us for the final part of the birthday celebration, dedicated to cake time.
