Summer has a unique way of making time slow down. Each day begins with a ride in our minibus and ends with dusty shoes, pockets filled with little treasures, and a story waiting to be shared at home.

One morning might begin in the forest, continue beside a stream, and end with an outdoor cooking workshop or a raft-building challenge. The next day could take children to a charming village, a vineyard, the shores of a lake, or a mountain trail. No two days are ever the same.

Every week is designed as a new adventure. Activities evolve with the places we explore, the weather, the changing seasons, and the children's curiosity. Rather than filling every minute with entertainment, we give children the freedom to explore, observe, create, and sometimes simply enjoy the outdoors at their own pace.

Summer gives us a kind of freedom that no other season can. The days are longer, backpacks stay open until evening, and plans sometimes change as new opportunities appear.

Building a dam across a stream. Making fresh tomato sauce with vegetables picked that morning. Crafting a kite before racing across a field to fly it. Enjoying an ice cream after a day by the lake. Our activities are inspired by everything the season has to offer, not by a rigid timetable.

Every week is carefully planned, but we always leave room for the unexpected. The perfect stream for building rafts, a farmer inviting us to discover life on the farm, or a breathtaking viewpoint that's simply too beautiful to pass by. The most memorable moments are rarely the ones you plan for.

Summer holidays may be short, but the memories last far longer. Cooking over a campfire, diving into the lake after a day of adventure, building a woodland den with new friends, or tasting a tomato picked just moments before—these are the stories children are still excited to share long after the holidays are over.

These are the moments that inspire children to keep exploring, stay curious about the natural world, and look forward to their next adventure. They remind us that an extraordinary day doesn't need much: a few good friends, plenty of curiosity, and the freedom to make the most of summer.

Every week is carefully planned, but we never follow a rigid schedule. The perfect stream for building a dam, a farm opening its gates just for us, or a meadow bursting with wildflowers can completely transform the day.

We embrace this flexibility. It allows us to follow the opportunities nature offers instead of sticking to a fixed itinerary.

The greatest adventures aren't always the ones we planned. More often than not, they're the ones we discover along the way.

In summer, cooking is often part of the adventure. Children might make fresh tomato sauce using vegetables picked just a few hours earlier, bake pita bread over a campfire, prepare a herbal tea from dried plants, or enjoy a picnic in the shade of the trees.

Mealtimes become moments of discovery as much as they are moments of sharing. We use carefully selected seasonal ingredients to help children discover the joy of simple cooking and good food.

To make life easier for families, we offer several convenient pick-up locations between Morges, Lausanne and Vevey. The same meeting points and pick-up times apply to all of our camps.

You can find the full list of pick-up locations on our Camps page.

All of our summer camps include supervision by the Hey Folks team, freshly prepared meals and snacks made with seasonal, locally sourced ingredients, return transport from our pick-up locations, and all the equipment needed for each activity. Every week features a different programme, carefully designed to help children explore and enjoy the outdoors throughout the summer.

Details of our different pricing options—including Standard, Early Booking, Corporate and Member rates—as well as the terms and conditions for each option, can be found on our Camps page in the Pricing section.

1. Can I book just one day of the camp?

No. Our summer camps are designed as week-long adventures. Throughout the week, children build friendships, develop a strong sense of teamwork, and take part in activities that naturally build on one another. Some experiences, such as open-water activities, also require preparation at the beginning of the week to ensure everyone's safety.

2. Do the children spend the whole day outdoors?

Yes, whenever possible. Nature is our classroom and our playground, so we prioritise outdoor activities. If the weather is genuinely unsuitable, we adapt the programme and offer equally engaging activities in a more appropriate setting.

3. How do the water activities work?

Safety always comes first. At the start of the week, children who can swim complete the Water Safety Check (CSA) to ensure they have the skills required for activities in the lake. Children who do not yet meet these requirements, or who cannot swim, take part in alternative activities under the close supervision of our team.

4. Do the children have free time?

Yes—but never time that is simply left unstructured. At Hey Folks, independent time is designed as an opportunity to explore. Building a den, watching insects, inventing games or following a new discovery are all part of the experience, always within a safe and carefully supervised environment.

5. What happens if the weather is very hot?

We adapt our programme to the weather. Activities are planned to make the most of shaded areas, include regular breaks, encourage plenty of hydration and, where appropriate, enjoy safe water-based activities.

6. Where do the children eat?

Lunch depends on the day's adventure. It may be enjoyed in a mountain hut, an outdoor picnic area, on a farm, or another location suited to the day's activities. Daily menus are shared with families through the camp's private WhatsApp group.

7. Can you cater for allergies and special dietary requirements?

Yes. During registration, we collect all the information needed to adapt meals to each child's allergies or dietary requirements.

8. My child doesn't know anyone. Will that be a problem?

Not at all. Many children join the camp on their own for the first time. The beginning of the week is carefully designed to help every child feel welcome, build confidence and make new friends. From the very first days, our activities naturally encourage teamwork and connection.

9. Who supervises the children?

Our camps are limited to 24 children per week, allowing us to provide personalised support and high-quality supervision. Every member of the Hey Folks team holds the required enhanced criminal record check and the qualifications needed to work with children. At least two team members present each week are certified in paediatric first aid and hold valid Base Pool and Base Pool Plus water safety qualifications.

10. How many children attend each camp?

We welcome a maximum of 24 children per week. This allows us to maintain a friendly atmosphere, get to know every child personally, and provide individual attention throughout the week.

11. What are the camp hours?

Children are dropped off between 7:45 am and 8:00 am at their chosen pick-up location. Collection takes place between 5:30 pm and 6:00 pm, depending on the location.

12. How do parents stay informed during the week?

Each camp has its own private WhatsApp group where we share important updates, daily menus and plenty of photos from the children's adventures. Families can follow the week almost in real time.

13. Are the activities the same every week?

No. While some signature adventures return throughout the summer, every week has its own unique programme. We also adapt activities to the weather, seasonal opportunities and the discoveries we make along the way.

14. Why choose Hey Folks instead of a traditional holiday club?

Because our camps are much more than childcare. Every week tells its own story. Activities are thoughtfully connected, children grow together as a group, and each day builds naturally towards the next, creating one complete adventure.

15. Can brothers and sisters attend together, even if they're different ages?

Yes. Siblings are welcome to join the same camp. Activities are then adapted to each child's age and abilities, while still giving them plenty of opportunities to share moments together throughout the day if they wish.

16. What should my child bring?

A reusable water bottle, weather-appropriate clothing, a sun hat, sunscreen, and—when required by the programme—a swimsuit and towel. Families receive a complete packing list before the camp begins.

Summer holidays offer plenty of opportunities to join a camp, but some weeks are especially popular. To keep our groups small and ensure every child receives the attention they deserve, places are limited.

Summer is just one of the many adventures offered by Hey Folks. Throughout the year, each camp is thoughtfully designed to help children discover a different side of nature as the seasons change.

  • Autumn Camps – Vibrant forests, seasonal harvests, creative workshops and Halloween adventures.
  • Easter Camps – Spring awakening, seed planting, nature discoveries and outdoor Easter egg hunts.
  • Ski Camps – A week in Champéry where children learn, improve their skiing and build confidence on the slopes with the Swiss Ski School.
  • All Our Camps – Find everything you need to know about our camps, including how they work, daily schedules, transport, meals, supervision and pricing.

The adventure doesn't stop when the school holidays are over. Throughout the year, our Adventure Days on Saturdays and our Birthday Parties give children even more opportunities to explore, create and enjoy new outdoor adventures.
